The owner of the commercial property located at 3190 South State Road 7 applied to the city’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funded Commercial Rehabilitation Program to upgrade the appearance of the building and provide some site improvements. The subject 2.1-acre property has an existing 1-story, 34,700 square foot commercial building constructed in 1980. The rehabilitation involved the demolition of the existing façade and construction a new parapet feature with columns; new windows and doors; decorative awnings over tenant entrances; new base and accent paint colors; a new monument sign to replace a non-conforming pole sign; new building lighting; and landscaping.
Completion of this project continues to advance the revitalization of Historic Miramar. To date, 16 projects have been completed under the program at a construction value of $3.9 million leveraging $1.9 million in CDBG funds.
