What is GIS?
Geographic Information System (GIS) is a computer system designed to manage information about geographic places, analyze spatial relationships, and model spatial processes. GIS is used to view, understand, question, interpret, and visualize our world in ways that reveal relationships, patterns, and trends in the form of maps, globes, reports, and charts.
The Community & Economic Development Department's GIS provides the Miramar development community with accurate, timely information, technical support and information access training. The GIS group provides decision support, work process re-engineering, and quality management consulting.
